Video by Beth Powell
Instead of doing multiple choice surveys about how we can get to Zero new cases of HIV, I went around Paramaribo, Suriname with a poster. I asked people to write on it what they think the next steps are to having no new cases. I asked a few of the participants to speak about what they wrote, which was the reason I included a video.
On the poster, there is writing in English, Dutch, Sranan Tongo (Surinamese), and Portuguese. I told people they could express themselves as authentically as they wanted.
I will be giving the poster to the Public Health unit, who will be the ones working on “Getting to Zero” here in Suriname, so that they can maybe use some of the input in their programming.
